Drawing: Although not my strongest skill - is undeniably important - for me, I use super quick sketches to visualise my ideas AND how I want to realise them.

3D - I have never experimented with 3D, I hope to at some point in the future.

Photography - I use photography a lot, it is the best way, in my opinion, to communicate visual information of something that exists - why would you draw something to show someone what it looks like when you could show them a real life like image. I also love to use cameras when considering composition in my work. I find the viewfinder and the borders of the image allow me to consider where each individual element lies in relationship to each other.

Film - As I mentioned before in this blog, I think film is great for engaging a viewer and it shares many similarities with photography. I like the recording of information and events, and the use of film is hard to beat in my opinion.

Animation - I think animation is a beautiful art - however I am picky. For me, stop motion 9/10 times fails to hold my attention, I find results often seem juvenile and unprofessional (NOT ALWAYS). However 3D animation and digital animations such as Motion Graphics and Vector art, I think is a great way to communicate information, and can be very useful in many parts of graphic design.

Print - I enjoy print as it appeals to the fine artist in me more - I like the effects realised when using screen printing as well as letterpress, I think the human element in the realising of the work allows for a slight margin of error, which can often have visually pleasing results to a viewer. To make a comparison - audiences often prefer to listen to DJs play on vinyl as the slight imperfections which often occur when a DJ uses vinyl gives the set a sense of soul, which is harder to achieve when using digital equipment.

Typography - I've discussed my love for typography previously.

Book arts - Books are beautiful...sometimes. I think that magazine design and catalogue design is amazing and can completely alter the impact that the content has on the reader. There is something to me that is irreplaceable about books, that will never be achieved digitally, perhaps similar to the vinyl analogy i made earlier.

Words/Language - I think poetry is an amazing form of art, its emotional power is undeniable when used well, thus I think it is very important to consider its place in my work - One of projects earlier this year consisted of poems printed onto shoe laces.

Campaigns - I've discussed my interest in campaigns previously.

Research - I think research is clearly fundamental to almost all work, although perhaps not always necessary - I find it always improves the work and makes it of a higher standard.

Group work - If one person can provide x amount of things - then two people can provide 2x. However too many cooks spoil a broth...

Exploring processes - This fundamentally makes you a better creative.

1-day projects. Quick thinking and having to just say yes to yourself repeatedly.

2-week projects - Allows you more time to explore ideas and push your outcomes.
